They were really great to deal with, only complaint is there was around 20% clay in my last load of road crush which wasn't great for leveling. Overall still a decent company, may have just been off spec which wasn't their fault, still going back

The best landscape supplier in the city, and I've worked with them all - so that's saying a lot. They are a family run business that provides the best customer service in the business, the best prices, and amazing advice. Every staff member I've dealt with there was friendly and very helpful - from the staff at the order desk to the yard staff shoveling our product! Stop by and experience for yourself and you will be converted.

Outstanding Customer Service!
Anu and Tapinder Paaji went above and beyond to help us with every item on our list. This was our first time shopping for shrubs and landscaping supplies, and they made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. They took the time to explain each step clearly, making sure we understood everything before moving forward. We couldn’t have asked for better support—10/10 customer service!

It was a pleasure interacting with the team at Whyte Ave Landscape Supplies center. They were exceptionally courteous and fair throughout the process. I was thoroughly impressed with their service—the entire transaction, including the refund, was handled smoothly and professionally. I highly recommend them for their outstanding service and transparent, reasonable pricing

It was not easy to deliver the three big bags of mulch in the driveway because of some constraints.so Daljinder suggested to drop behind the house which worked out perfectly for us. Thank you Daljinder for your service.

Excellent and efficient service. Ordered online on Saturday morning thinking I would see delivery maybe on Monday. Wasn't really in a hurry. The young lady from the business called me within an hour of ordering to verify details and let me know they would get it on a truck today (2 cubic yards of crushed limestone in bags). The driver called me about 30 minutes before arrival and showed up right on time. He was very courteous and dropped the product exactly where I wanted it on my driveway. I will definately use them again in the future. Good pricing and very good service. Great job folks!

Such a wonderful place! For anyone who is actually doing landscaping, they have endless amounts of supplies on their huge lot so I’m sure that you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for! As for me, I am a teacher and I came in to get a small amount of rocks for my students to paint as Father’s Day gifts. When I told this to the lovely woman working at the front desk, she gave them to me free of charge after checking with her manager. It was such a lovely gesture and so appreciated! Thank you for helping to make Father’s Day special for my students!

There is nothing to complain about. Nice attention, price, and service. I got the materials I needed to renovate my backyard. It's a place I would recommend to other customers

20:13 26 May 25

If you're thinking about buying sod from this place—don’t. I had a terrible experience. About 50% of the sod was usable. The rest? Rotting. The pieces were hot to the touch—too hot to handle with bare hands—and gave off a horrible compost-like smell. That’s not just poor quality; it feels like a serious health and safety issue.

What made it worse was the complete lack of follow-through. I’ve contacted them twice. My wife and even my grandpa tried reaching out. Each time, we were told someone would get back to us. No one ever did.

One star honestly feels too generous. If I could leave negative five stars, I would. I’m not sure if the business changed ownership, but with all the positive reviews, I expected at least basic customer service. What I got was the opposite.

00:15 24 May 25

Excellent service & product — awesome customer service given by Tapinder ji …highly recommend..

21:09 22 May 25

Really disappointing result using this business for the first time. I ordered 2 bags of mulch, they came clearly not full and the driver was 2 hours late with no call to let us know they were behind. I raised the issue of the bags not being full with the office, their only response was the attached photo of similar bags, also not full, on the back of a truck. Go to Burnco or another supplier if you want to get the actual quantity you order.

16:51 22 May 25

Exceptional service all around! I ordered over the phone and it was very easy. They knew their product. The delivery time was communicated every step of the way. HUGE shout out to Happy who delivered our rocks. He was extremely skilled at placing the bags for us. Incredible really. 100% recommend this company.

22:05 14 May 25

Below was my review, but after two months of waiting my return after delivering wrong product and it took them a week to pick up and now it’s being two month and not giving me the refund of the product picked up by them. I would say be careful with them.

I don’t usually do any reviews but I think this place deserve that I take some of my time to do review. Go no where if you need landscaping supplies. They are amazing people. Amanjit is great man he helps me in every step in the process to get my project done and it turn out amazing. Preet and sorry forget the other lady name may be Daljeet always put simple on their faces and ready to help. Sometimes it takes them time to return a cal but so understand, people love them and they are so busy that’s why. I have even extra items that I asked if they can take back with their track instead of me outing in my car and they helped me in that’s.

Fast, convenient and friendly service. Reasonable and competitive pricing. Quality materials and bonus that they have a bag recycling program. Second time using them. The delivery driver earned his name Happy, he made a second trip with his forklift to replace the bag exactly where we wanted it and was happy to do it. THANKS!

She was incredibly helpful in guiding me to choose the right materials for my landscaping project, which now looks amazing. I highly recommend both the company and Gurpreet for their professionalism and excellent customer service.

12:09 04 May 25

Awesome service! Was travelling 1500 km by vehicle after picking up the items. Staff conscientiously wrapped and loaded the heavy stone goods on to my truck. Items priced reasonably. Two ladies at the front desk were particularly charming and helpful. Gave me water while I waited while exchanging delightful banter. Very pleased with the experience.

Great Experience on Whyte Ave – Mrs. Gurpreet Went Above and Beyond!

Her dedication to customer service truly made my visit memorable. If you’re on Whyte Ave, I highly recommend reaching out to him for any assistance – she’s a gem!

Edit to add after owner's response:
See screenshot. Never did he mention once that they're closed on stat holidays. Not to mention sept 1 wasn't a stat holiday. And as per their own policy on the website, orders placed before 2 pm are eligible for same day delivery. According to your own response, the order was placed on 12 pm.
Kindly accept your unprofessionalism instead of justifying.

Had the worst experience with this company. I ordered top soil.
First they promised the same day delivery if I were to pay right away, I did that.
Hours later. I get a call saying apparently the top soil has 'clumps' and they're getting fresh soil tomorrow so it's better if I switch the delivery to next day. I accepted the clumped top soil and they agreed to deliver it same day.
Hours later, they called saying they had a 'mechanical issue' with the delivery truck. Therefore, they won't be able to deliver today. Offered a refund but that's besides the point.
Not to mention my husband had spent hours at this point getting the yard ready and buying supplies. We needed to get the landscaping done before the long weekend due to other commitments next week and they didn't care one bit.
The whole clumpy soil and then machine failure just seem to be excuses as it cannot be a coincidence. Extremely unprofessional people

02:29 31 Aug 24

Texted in a few questions prior to visiting and staff was always helpful and responsive within a decent response time.
Easy to find and to navigate through their yard. All staff were friendly and asked if we needed help. Rock we purchased was beautiful and worked perfect for our project. Prices were great, we will definitely recommend to others and use for future projects. Thanks again WALS

Very lovely company to deal with. I needed to postpone delivery…they did it, I needed in AM…they did it…and all very pleasantly. Their driver was extremely accommodating, made sure the mulch was put exactly where I wanted it…and all with such a sunny disposition! Love this company and will be using them in the future. ❤️❤️❤️????????????????????????

Preet was extremely helpful and efficient. They were able to make a delivery for the next day and had exactly what I needed. They made suggestions that were helpful for large delivery. Delivery driver was also great. Prices were also cheaper than other places. I highly recommend this place.

03:50 26 Apr 24

I contacted Whyte Ave Landscape Supplies while shopping around for bulk top soil delivery. Not only were they the most responsive of the 4 companies I contacted but were also able to provide same day delivery. Upon delivery, Joban did an excellent job, expertly maneuvering his truck to dump the soil in the exact location that I wanted.

17:45 14 Apr 24

Preet I feel that coming here has been a great experience. We’ve been well taken care of and the whole entire staff are very polite and cheerful. I have made friends for life and I think the people at the garden centre of White Avenue landscape supplies.

15:52 11 Apr 24

These guys delivered road crush to me twice!
Both times they claimed they delivered me five cubic yards! Both piles are different sizes, and they are maybe two yards.
I will never use them again. Deceitful, couldn’t talk to them. They argued with me.

I paid over $200 delivery charges, when I should have only paid once.

Horrible.

07:55 11 Apr 24

Ordered gravel road crush, 9 yards. They assured me they used a bucket to measure it.

I think I got 4 yards max.

Called to complain. They basically told me I was crazy.

Been in the trade 40 years. I know what a yard of gravel is. Won’t be ordering again. Not from these crooks.

15:58 02 Oct 23

These are the most honest, fair, and friendly business owners I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. Customer service is on point every time. They get to know you by name. Best prices in the city for material. I really won’t go anywhere else. They supplied me with all the material to do this retaining wall and it was a very smooth experience dealing with Whyte Ave Landscaping.

22:29 29 Sep 23

Manjit and the rest of the staff were very helpful in helping with our project. We were new to hardscaping and was very apprehensive about taking this project on ourselves. He not only did the math for us, but helped with the execution via multiple phone calls. A few of our pavers came cracked on the pallet and they replaced it without issue. Our project turned out great and will continue to use Whyte Ave Landscape Supplies for everything in the future.

Thanks for making our experience as easy as possible.

20:19 15 Sep 23

Previously I had nothing but good experiences with this company, but this time I ordered a one yard tote bag of sand and it only showed up Half full.

When I brought this to their attention the argued with me and told me they have camera footage of the bag being filled-even though I had pictures of the unopened bag with measurements.

The sand plus the bag plus delivery was $200, so for that price they could have at least given me what I paid for.

It’s a real shame-all of my previous business with this company has been five stars.

EDIT: The manager saw this review and called me back. He was very argumentative and rude and told me that he had security camera footage of the bag being loaded, even though I have pictures of the bag arriving half empty at my house.

He refused to give me a refund or credit. I guess there’s nothing I can do at this point except not give them any more business.

Geez. $200 for a half yard of sand. You think for that price they could make it right. Terrible service! What happened to this place?

02:26 02 Sep 23

I would leave two five star reviews if i could! Great hours and customer service. I called right at close one evening and they spent the extra time to put in my order and hang around for me to pick it up 15 minutes later. I would highly recommend coming here for your landscaping needs.

01:14 12 Aug 23

Excellent advice, deliveries on time and no complaints .

Their return policy is really very good and hassle free.

Thanks a lot to WALS team .

20:19 25 Jun 23

I was so pleased with the service this company provided. They were extremely professional, responsive to our concerns and their work was excellent and I would highly recommend them.Thanku so much Whyte Ave landscaping

17:33 20 Jun 23

This yard while it appears to be a high quality business has inflated prices compared to other proximal businesses, will not price match, and also has inexperienced/incompetent operators. They scratched my vehicle when loading and had the employee pay out of pocket for the repair. Would highly recommend you find another yard for your landscaping and material needs.

In response to the business reply: No threats were made regarding this matter. My level of frustration due to the incident and albeit extremely UNCLEAR communication on my desire for discounted future material, in addition to compensation for repair were not communicated in writing to me. If you truly strive to improve yourselves, review your pricing, do not charge for a re-fill of the 1yd bags, and ensure all operators are appropriately trained on how to load vehicles. I assure you I will not make the mistake of shopping here in future, and hope others may heed this review before being overcharged.

04:54 20 Jun 23

I bought quarter stones from them yesterday (June 11, 2023). They sold me half of the quarter. My neighbour bought same stone from another supplier. He covered more than me. Scammy supplier.

Edit: Mr. Tapinder I told you 30 FT x 2 FT and 3” deep. You told me quarter. My neighbour’s supplier told same. Results is not 2 FT!! As you can compare with my neighbour’s landscaping. Why you do not stand behind the word! Even you didn’t call me for fixing the problem.

I am very sorry, but your business is hit and run. As a customer we can not weight the material and they know it and take the advantage.

Whyte Ave Landscape Supplies is the best place to go for all your product needs! My company has been coming here for a couple years now and couldn’t be happier! Customer service is amazing, prices are the best in town and the quality of products are top notch!

19:53 13 Jun 23

We undertook a large backyard project (requiring 3 yards of white crystal gravel, landscaping fabric, top soil, and compost) and Whyte Ave Landscape Supplies was very efficient and convenient for us. Their products were better priced than the online delivery sites I checked out, and the way they get it into the large WALS bags is very interesting, fast, and convenient. Sehaj was very helpful and friendly. Thanks, WALS! ☺

00:34 07 Jun 23

One of the best places I’ve dealt with for landscaping requirements. Highly recommend. We ordered over 40 yards on three different orders for our home and they responded instantly. Prices great and services better.

20:20 11 May 23

These are the NICEST people and their customer service always exceeds my expectations! The front desk staff and management are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The yard staff are amazing - today the gentleman who loaded my blocks remembered me and specific details about my order from LAST YEAR! My husband was very impressed with the delivery service too - the driver very skillfully and conscientiously deposited a large load of rocks on our driveway, leaving plenty of room for our vehicle to pass. Their selection of products is fantastic and pricing is very competitive. We are extremely happy customers and will certainly continue to shop with them for all our future
landscaping needs!

18:57 11 Nov 22

Everyone we dealt with at Whyte Ave Landscape were excellent... super friendly and helpful. They had a great selection of products in stock and delivery went smoothly. Will definitely come here again for future landscaping projects.

15:00 17 Sep 22

Had a small project that needed some larger stackable stones that needed to be moveable by manpower. The friendly staff let me pick through several pallets to find the perfect stones and it was no problem when I had to return some as they did not quite fit. Preet and Sukhman as well as the guys working in the yard were very helpful. Thanks for making this project a success!

16:22 04 Sep 22

Absolutely amazing service! They did nothing less then perfect to ensure customer satisfaction. Also their prices are amazing! We got a lot more than we thought we would for our buck. ????. And to top it off they’re open when everybody else was closed.

I am 100% satisfied with my choice to go to White Avenue landscaping

21:24 01 Sep 22

They have the best prices in Edmonton for bark, soil, ground cover rocks. The staff is polite & I was able to get same day delivery twice.

02:14 27 Aug 22

Recently visited the landscaping supplies as I have been on the hunt for good quality but good priced accessories for my backyard and trees and plants as well. I have been to many many places but I found everything I needed here for such good prices but such good quality. There is a worker there and her name is Sehaj, she was extremely kind and patient as I looked at everything. I would truly recommend checking out this business for all your landscaping needs.

00:20 27 Aug 22

Whyte Ave Landscaping gave great prices and exceptional customer service. So far base materials are delivered for our stone patio. I would recommend.

14:13 21 Aug 22

I purchased multiple loads of landscaping rock, topsoil, and sod from Whyte Avenue Landscaping and their team was always helpful and courteous. They provide great advice and support too! I recommended them to my son and he also selected the company as his primary supplier of materials for his backyard project. A great group of people!

22:35 12 Aug 22

I went to Whyte Ave Landscape Supplies to get some help with a small project and the advice was perfect for my situation. I used road crush as a base and small fractured rainbow rock for the top. I wanted to create a mountain meadow kind of look. When the truck arrived with the two types of rock Dilawra (sp?), driver, dumped it on my driveway in two separate piles - it made my job a lot easier! Customer service is top notch at WALS.

02:27 11 Aug 22

Second delivery from Whyte Ave landscaping, Harjie the driver was very friendly and landed the load perfectly!

I have been buying supplies from this supplier several times this summer and all the staff have been helpful and friendly.
Great customer service and pricing makes an easy choice for my service!
Thanks to the whole team and great job!

20:16 09 Jul 22

Great place for any landscape needs!
The yard attendants were very helpfull in finding exactly what we wanted and helped hand bomb through all the flake stone we needed.
The staff inside were friendly and helpful too. Made us feel welcome and not a burden. They have our business for sure!

Lots of selection and nice product too

Friendly and helpful staff. Great selection. Whyte Avenue Landscaping Supplies is an absolute joy to do business with. Thank you so much for your help!!

16:22 27 Jun 22

Awesome service, best clean topsoil I've seen this year. I'm a contractor and hard to impress. They delivered 4 yards to a client site 40 minutes after request...on a Sunday. The delivery guy Lokdeep was very professional, and expertly dropped the load avoiding overspill onto the grass. Very refreshing.

18:00 23 Jun 22

Don’t waste your time going elsewhere..Great selection of everything you can think of for your landscaping needs..
They’re just very nice salespeople, very knowledgeable and pleasant, my salesperson instructed me how to build a retaining wall step by step.
They delivered the stuff I bought the next morning right on time although they were willing to deliver on the same day.
Even the delivery guys were extremely nice, polite and efficient .

Over the last few weeks we have had over four deliveries from Whyte Ave Landscape and each one was fast, on time and exactly as ordered. I called around for prices and delivery times and Whyte Ave Landscaping had the best prices and fastest delivery times. Excellent customer service and overall 5 out of 5 service. Highly recommended!

14:45 02 Jun 22

I stopped in on a whim to pick up some material. Doreen was extremely helpful and took the time to make sure I got what I needed. They have quickly became my first and only stop for my landscaping supplies. The customer service is on another level! From Doreen, to follow up calls about delivery, and the tandem driver was also fantastic. Could not recommend them enough!

Great customer service. Nice people with excellent knowledge. Very helpful. They assisted me on my selection and project ideas with stack stone. Beautiful bricks in perfect shape, nice colours.I strongly recommend this supplier.

02:38 21 May 22

The lady who took my order was helpful and did a great job answering my questions and finding the answers she didn't know off hand. Even called me to see if I wanted to change my delivery date because they saw rain in the forecast! Who does that?? Hats off to WALS for customer service. Their prices are good compared to competitors and the delivery was on date and the dump truck driver took care with placement and did the little things right like sweeping any rogue rocks back into the pile. This is where I will shop for all of my landscaping needs

00:29 19 May 22

Very nice company. Good prices. High quality of service.
if you go there, you will find everything you need????????⛰

00:44 17 May 22

I went to Whyte Avenue Landscaping in search of natural flagstone pieces to use as stepping stones. When I explained the work I had planned, I was given many options of additional material I required. Delivery was scheduled for the next day and from beginning to end, everyone I encountered was so knowledgeable, kind and willing to help. I will definitely return as a repeat customer! Outstanding service from all!

05:08 09 May 22

Picked up some washed rock today. These are the nicest people in the business. I always get great service and it keeps me coming back! The new yard looks great, fellas!

18:08 08 May 22

We had a great experience! Staff were very friendly, their operating hours are customer focused, and we liked that they sold material in 5 gallon bags. They also sell supplies within their office making it easy as we only had to make one stop. Highly recommend checking out Whyte Ave Landscaping Supplies.

23:25 07 May 22

Great products and delivery. This is our second season using WALS. We were introduced to their products through our landscaper last summer. The garden soil is superior to other bulk soil we’ve ordered. The patio stones are great quality. Delivery of all products was smooth.

Picked up six 5 gallon bags of play sand. You can text or call to make sure they have what you need in stock. I showed up, got my invoice and the guys loaded the bags for me. Much better deal than buying from the hardware stores!

The service was exceptional! We had all of our questions answered and they were able to deliver quickly. Would highly recommend!

I made an order for 1.5 cubic yards of limestone rock. I placed the order over the phone, and the person helping me was very thorough, making sure I was ordering the right product (diy home project). They delivered when they said they would, calling before hand to give a heads up when they were on on their way. They delivered where they were supposed to. I'm happy with this experience.

These guys just moved to their new yard, weren't even open yet, but when I called them they said to come by and they would help . That they did! Plus they delivered to my place on Good Friday. Great guys! Great service!

My experience at Whyte Ave landscaping was excellent. I called and someone quickly answered the phone and gave me the information I was looking for. Then in store, I had quick and kind service. I had a non standard request for 1000 rocks of a certain size, and even though my purchase was small and time consuming, their service was still quick and attentive. I would recommend them and will definitely return for further landscape needs.

This place is great and Manu is awesome to work with. We have a Landscape and Snow Removal Company and we get our Ice Melt, Rock Chips and Salt here. They always have what we need and are very accommodating to us. Highly recommend Whyte Ave Landscaping...Two thumbs up!!

Best of the best! Great customer service and friendly as well. Good variety of product including bulk salt which I use by the yard. Always has the rock chips I need for spreading, and willing to accommodate the hours I work when I need fill ups ????. 100% recommend Whyte Ave Landscape Supplies ????

Bought Sanding Rocks (Rock Chips) for our very very icy sidewalk. Only one drain on entire street - and in its infinite wisdom the City has blocked it - so when it’s above 0 and the waters flow, all the water from the street arrives at the bottom of my neighbours and our driveway - then promptly freezes. We have a six inch thick ice sheet now. Chipping it is fruitless. It is hard as cement and has multiple layers of rock solid ice!

Chips are prebagged. Very helpful - thanks!

Super friendly staff. They adjust their hours daily to make sure customers/contractors are taken care of and have access to supplies needed in this constantly changing weather. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Excellent place to get all your summer landscaping supplies. They also carrier road chips and other ice control materials. Staff is very polite and helpful. Their prices are great , much lower then the bigger companies

Been going to these guys since they opened up. They are consistently adding more materials and products to stay competitive. We often call in need of urgent deliveries for soil and other landscaping materials, and they always deliver ASAP. They also seem to refill their salt and gravel faster during winter than other places, which is why we deal almost exclusively with them.

Went in to pick up landscaping salt as they were recommended by a contractor

When I got in the staff had no idea where it was and when he called a different person to check they wanted to charge me more. For a smaller amount and when I showed them their website they said they don’t sell that product.

Wouldn’t recommend coming here

They always have good stock, and knowledge of what they are selling.

Highly recommend for all your landscape needs and professional advice.
Prices are also comparative.

Great service! Great price. Super easy to deal with! The staff was amazing. Ordered 4 yards of limestone for delivery. Paid at 9am, had the rock on my driveway by 1130 the same day! They dropped the rock exactly where I wanted. If I could give more stars I would. Never knew this place existed before a week ago. Now I don't think I'll get bulk products anywhere else!!!!

I highly recommend Whyte Ave landscape supplies to anyone starting a new lawn or repairing the existing lawn or a putting a new garden or doing landscaping. I found the owner and his staff are very knowledgeable, respectable, trustworthy, genuine and very fast in providing service. I phoned yesterday, got my soil delivered within a few hours by the owner who was very honest, a good listener and knowledgeable of his products also very professional. Their soil is of high quality, they take pride in their products and services, their receptionist was excellent in giving very good customer service. I wish this company all the best.

I must admit that that in order to get certain things completed to my satisfaction I end up, many times, doing them myself. My bad! But I have seen (initially it may be hard to imagine) that with a some help you can achieve it.
Anyway, coming back to the topic. I had a need to redo my landscaping, because after spending thousands of dollars I wasn't happy with it. Last summer, I just happened to visit Whyte Ave Landscaping, on the crossing of Sherwood Park Drive and 50th street, in Edmonton. I still remember, the minute I walked in I was a welcomed customer. Someone live was willing to understand my needs, process it at their ends, and help me with a few qualified solutions, in fact detailed and how to do. I bought one that suited me best and I have no hesitation in saying that I have been a happy customer.
I would certainly like give them, to their top quality professionalism, the top stars. My best.
